Looking Ahead: The Future of Business Travel |
Business travel is on the rise, and all signs point to a continued upward trend. A recent article in International Travel & Health Insurance Journal discusses the evolving dynamics of work-related travel. Here are some key insights.
Many professionals view business travel as being essential to their career, and companies are planning to spend heavily on business trips. But it’s not all work and no play. Many employees hope to extend their trips with a few days of sightseeing or relaxing. This blending of business and leisure travel is becoming known as “bleisure” travel. |
At the same time, employee safety and well-being have become top priorities. With increasing concerns about geopolitical instability, many professionals are more cautious and may decline trips if they’re concerned about safety.
To address these concerns, employers must actively prioritize travel safety. This includes providing real-time travel information, risk assessments and guidance on managing potential risks. Plus, employers should have contingency plans in place, such as political or natural disaster coverage, to ensure they can safely evacuate employees in case of emergencies. |

Meet the GeoBlue Medical Staff
Spotlight on Dr. Evelyn Duvivier |
Dr. Evelyn Duvivier joined GeoBlue as Medical Director in May 2020. Evelyn’s responsibilities are varied—and lengthy! She reviews complex clinical cases, claims and appeals. She also provides medical guidance for repatriations and emergency medical evacuations, acts as medical consultant for our special investigations unit and oversees nurse colleagues. In addition, Evelyn is the head of the lunch and learn education program. |
Prior to GeoBlue, Evelyn worked as an emergency medicine physician at Pennsylvania Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania Health System for 11 years. She maintains her clinical skills by working as an emergency medicine physician on weekends at a Veterans Administration Medical Center.
Evelyn started her education as a philosophy major at Oberlin College. She then received medical and public health degrees from Yale. Later, she completed an internal medicine residency at New York Presbyterian Hospital/Cornell in New York City and an emergency medicine residency at Christiana Care Health System in Delaware.
Evelyn loves to travel, and she’s visited every continent except Antarctica and Australia (although she has been to the neighboring island of New Zealand). It’s no wonder Dr. Duvivier is such a great fit here at GeoBlue! |
